In 2022, sustainability has become one of the biggest challenges. And the clothing industry has an important role in sustainability worldwide. Acelera takes its responsibility and tries to limit the impact by taking a critical look at how we produce, transport and reuse. We can therefore offer our collection of cycling shirts and cycling pants with confidence.

Cycling shirts produced close to home

As we all know by now, all kinds of production - including cycling clothing - is often outsourced to countries far away. Due to lower production and labor costs in Asia, for example, it is often lucrative to produce elsewhere. Your cycling jersey has sometimes traveled all over the world before it hangs in your closet. From fabric to production, these logistics movements have a huge impact on our environment. Acelera strives to keep these movements to a minimum and use sustainable fabrics. We produce close to home, in Italy, and use recycled material as much as possible.

Recycled fabric for cycling shirts

Acelera's cycling shirts are made as much as possible from recycled polyester. Like traditional polyester, recycled polyester is a man-made fabric made from synthetic fibers. Instead of using new materials to make the fabric, recycled polyester uses pre-existing plastic. In many cases, those existing plastics are, for example, old water bottles, which are then processed and magically transformed into those beautiful cycling jerseys.

High quality and longevity

Acelera consciously chooses high-quality materials and a long lifespan. This means that the cycling shirts simply last a very long time. But not only the material is important. We also place extra reinforcements in strategic places to prevent wear. The focus is on timeless and functional design instead of chasing short-term trends.

Everyone can make a difference, from small actions to big impact. Follow the tips below to get the most out of your cycling jerseys:

• The washing machine breaks down clothes piece by piece. Therefore, wash environmentally friendly at 30 °C.
• If possible: wash on eco mode to save energy and water.
• Not sweating much? Perhaps your cycling jersey can last a training session, hang it outside on a clothes hanger overnight and washing is sometimes not necessary.
• Ordered cycling clothing? Recycle the Acelera packaging, it can be completely thrown into the paper bin.
