Privacy policy

Your data belongs to you. We only use it to process your order properly, to help you when needed, and to make Acelera a little better. Below you can read exactly what we collect, why, and what your rights are.

This policy applies to acelera.cc and to all contact you have with us.

Who we are

Acelera Sports BV, based in Amsterdam, Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 42130859. We are responsible for the processing of your personal data. Questions about privacy? Use the contact form on our website.

What data we collect

Depending on what you do with us, we process:

• Order data: name, address, email address, phone number, items ordered and order history.
• Payment data: the payment method and the status of your payment. Your card or account details are processed by our payment provider and are not stored by us.
• Account data: your login details, saved addresses and preferences, if you create an account.
• Customer service data: the content of your messages via the contact form, email or chat, plus your order number.
• Newsletter data: your email address and, if you share them, your name and interests.
• Website data: information about how you use our website, such as pages viewed, device, browser and approximate location. See also the section on cookies.

What we use your data for

We only process your data when there is a good reason to do so:

Who we share your data with

We never sell your data. We only share it with parties that help us deliver our services, and only to the extent necessary:

• E-commerce platform
• Carrier
• Payment providers
• Customer service software
• Email marketing
• Loyalty program
• Advertising platforms and analytics
• Accounting and administration

We have made agreements with all of these parties about the protection of your data. They are not allowed to use your data for their own purposes.

In addition, we may share data if we are required to do so by law, for example at the request of the Dutch Tax Administration.

Data outside the EU

Some of our processors are located outside the European Economic Area, in particular in the United States. In that case, we make sure your data remains properly protected, through the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or through the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission.

How long we keep your data

No longer than necessary:

• Order and payment data: 7 years, because the Dutch Tax Administration requires this of us.
• Account data: for as long as your account exists. You can have your account deleted at any time.
• Customer service data: up to 2 years after the last contact.
• Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.
• Website data: depending on the type of cookie, up to 2 years.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies:

• Necessary cookies make sure the website works, for example to remember your shopping cart. No consent is required for these.
• Analytical cookies help us understand how the website is used, so we can improve it.
• Marketing cookies are used to show you relevant ads on other platforms and to measure whether our campaigns are working.

On your first visit, we ask for your consent to analytical and marketing cookies via the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time via the cookie settings at the bottom of the website or via your browser settings.

Your rights

You always have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is inaccurate.
• Have deleted anything we are no longer required to keep.
• Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
• Withdraw your consent, for example by unsubscribing from the newsletter.
• Take your data with you in a readable file (data portability).
• Restrict the processing while we handle a request from you.

Not satisfied with how we handle your data? Then you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Security

We take the security of your data seriously. Our website is secured with an SSL connection, access to data is limited to employees who need it, and we only work with parties that comply with the GDPR.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy, for example if we start working with new parties or if the law changes. The current version is always available on this page.
