5x Rondje Hoep and alternative route around Amsterdam

De Ronde Hoep is perhaps the most classic cycling loop for anyone in Amsterdam. Loved by many, this route has almost everything a road cyclist looks for: fast riding through nature, low traffic, smooth asphalt, and getting lost is almost impossible since the route is very straightforward. The name Ronde Hoep comes from the polder the loop runs through, which is called Rondehoep. This polder lies between Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, Abcoude and Uithoorn. The area can be reached from Amsterdam within 10 minutes on the road bike, making it the perfect starting point for many road cyclists.

Being able to vary your standard cycling routes adds variety and gives you the option to sometimes road cycling a little shorter and sometimes a little longer. That’s why we created and tested five variations of the standard Rondje Hoep. You can download these cycling routes to your bike computer or use them on your mobile phone. We’ve arranged the routes from short to long. Want to discover more cycling routes around Amsterdam too? Keep an eye on our Route page or follow us on Instagram. We regularly share new routes there that we’ve tested for you.
