Three great routes for summer

Especially for the fans of VeloScout!

It’s holiday season, we’re right in the middle of cycling season, and the weather is beautiful. The perfect time to head out on a new route. We’ve tested three new rides and mapped everything out for you, so you can hop on your road bike and ride worry-free. Easily download these routes to your bike computer or use the Komoot app on your phone. That way, you won’t have to keep searching for the right route and you can enjoy every mile to the fullest!

Acelera | Loop around the Markermeer

This isn’t a loop for beginners, but for riders who have been cycling for a while. This long ride is perfect for the holiday period and takes you through varied and beautiful scenery. Keep in mind that you’ll be on the bike for five to six hours. So make sure to bring enough food, stop for water now and then, and don’t forget to pack spare tubes. Tip: check the wind direction beforehand — ideally, you’ll have it with you on the way back.

Acelera | Loop around Ruiterberg from Utrecht

Take a break from your standard loop and discover what else the Utrecht area has to offer. A fun and varied ride that’s also very manageable for the less fanatic road cyclist. Looking for more of a challenge? Pick up the pace and put your legs to the test on the beautiful straight sections. Just keep in mind that once autumn starts, there may be plenty of leaves on the road surface.

Acelera | Loop around Walcheren

This loop has it all. Forest, beach, canals, and beautiful towns. Make the most of your ride in Zeeland while passing some of the region’s best highlights. This route is ideal if you’re on holiday in Zeeland. We’ve ridden several loops in Zeeland, but this one stood head and shoulders above the rest! Tip: have lunch on the square in Middelburg or enjoy fresh fish on the boulevard in Vlissingen.
